Explanation:
Red blood cells (RBC):-
- RBC carry oxygen from the lungs
- Red blood cells are also called erythrocyte
- The red cell develops in bone marrow in several stages
- The average red cell in humans lives 100–120 days; there are some 5.2 million red cells per cubic millimetre of blood in the adult human.
- Though red cells are usually round, a small proportion are oval in the normal person, and in certain hereditary states a higher proportion may be oval.
White blood cells (WBC):-
- They protect you against illness and disease.
- White blood cell, also called leukocyte or white corpuscle
- A healthy adult human has between 4,500 and 11,000 white blood cells per cubic millimetre of blood.
- An abnormal increase in white cell number is known as leukocytosis, whereas an abnormal decrease in number is known as leukopenia.
- Although white cells are found in the circulation, most occur outside the circulation, within tissues, where they fight infections
Platelets:-
- Platelets, also known as thrombocytes, are blood cells responsible for blood clotting.
- If a blood vessel wall becomes damaged, platelets will rush to the site of injury and form a plug or clot to stop the bleeding. I
- Your doctor can help you assess your platelet count by looking at a complete blood count (CBC) test.
- The process by which platelets form a clot is called adhesion
- Platelets are live in the bloodstream for about eight to 10 days
