the function is exchange of gases

The stomata are tiny pores on the surface of leaf which allow carbon dioxide,oxygen,water vapour out and into it.It helps the plant in respiration.The stomata open in the sunlight and it helps the plant to gather everything that it needs during photosynthesis.
