1. Due to industrialisation.. making textiles was cheap.. soon a lot of textiles flooded indian market.
2. they were quite cheap and also mass produced so many people began buying then instead of traditional hand woven khadddi garments
3. also British gov't imposed monopoly on local weavers so they had to increase prices leading to downfall
4. The British gov't grew cotton indigo in indian subcontinent then exported it to Britain at cheap rate. made textiles and sold to indians with a profit
