(-1 ,   4) , (0  ,  5) & (1   ,  6) are few such pairs that are equidistant from the points (-1, 8) and (3, 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

(x y) is equidistant from the points (-1, 8) and (3, 4)

=> √(x + 1)² + (y - 8)²  = √(x - 3)² + ( y - 4)²

Squaring both sides

=> x² + 1 + 2x + y² + 64 - 16y = x² + 9 - 6x + y² + 16 - 8y

=> 8x - 8y  + 40 = 0

=> x - y + 5 = 0

All points lying on  x - y + 5 = 0 will be equidistant from (-1, 8) and (3, 4)

x     y

-1    4

0    5

1     6
