A shell account is a user account on a remote server which runs on a UNIX server. It gives access to a shell via command line interface protocol.

TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol or Internet Protocol) is the basic protocol of the internet. It is also used in the private networks like ethernet or an extranet. When we set up a direct connection to our PC with the internet, it provides our PC with a TCP/IP that helps it to send data from one place to another.

Thank you for asking this question from us. The shell connection and TCP/IP, both are the internet connections. The type of internet access which was available before the world of internet graphics is shell accounts. The major difference between these two connections is that shell connection only shows the text and does not support the graphics, whereas the TCP/IP connection supports both text and graphics (picture, images, videos). I hope this answer will be helpful for you.
