Spliting of congress in 1939:

  • In 1937 elections, The All-India Muslim League unsuccessful to form the government in any sphere. The Congress ministries resigned in October and November 1939, in protest in contradiction of Viceroy Lord Linlithgow's action of stating India to be a aggressive in the Second World War without consulting the Indian people. This results into piercing of congress.

  • For the 1939 elections of the President of Congress, Subhash proclaimed his candidature knowing that he would be divergent.
