Direct Democracy means one person, one vote. He/She can vote for the president or congressman who he/she likes even himself/herself directly.
In old times, Greece has the example of direct democracy created by Pericles. People(only male) in Greece can vote the leader directly.
Today's Democracy is not direct like USA. If you vote for the president of the USA, you can vote to a voter where state you live in. These voters will vote the president of the USA. It means that you can't vote the president of the USA directly but can only vote to the voter.
