Give one reason why feelings of distrust had developed between the indians and the british government

There are various reasons for this distrust but the main factor was that of deceiving india and her people.when the British parliament ordered Robert Clive to remove corruption in india at that time Clive himself was the biggest corrupt . second thing is that British promised india to help them get developed but instead of that they just looted all of indias wealth.they also raised tax.these were some reasons for distrust that occurred.
