Following are the similarities between mitochondria and chloroplasts:

Explanation:

  • Mitochondria have their own DNA and so does the chloroplast. Only these two organelles, other than the nucleus, are known to have their own DNA.

  • Mitochondria and chloroplast also are the organelles  where energy for a cell is produced. Hence, they both are the energy producing sites for cells and share this similarity.

  • Chloroplast and mitochondria both are present in plants, the animal cell however, lacks chloroplast.
