Answer:

First, react phenol with ammonia in presence of zinc chloride to obtain aniline.

1. Then react aniline with bromine water to form 1,3,5-tribromoaniline.

2. Then react 1,3,5-tribromoaniline with sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid at 273 K to form 1,3,5 tribromo benzene diazonium chloride.

  • As we know that 1, 3, 5- trinitrobenzene is insoluble in water, high explosive,  it burns vigorously in dry form.
  • Formula of trinitrobenzene is C6H3N3O6. it has a 213.10 molecular weight.
  • In the first step, nitrobenzene heated in the presence of concentrated H2SO4  and concentrated HNO3 at 398k will form 1,3-dinitrobenzene.
  • Then in the second step, 1,3-dinitrobenzene convert into 1, 3, 5-trinitrobenzene in the presence of concentrated H2SO4  and concentrated HNO3 at 473k.
