‘Sour grapes’ is an idiom that states that a person has a tendency to declare all things bad and not to the mark when he cannot achieve them.

EXPLANATION:

Most of us have the habit of saying ‘sour grapes’ in our daily lives when we cannot fulfil our desires. When we fail to qualify the entrance exam of a reputed institution we comment that it is good we didn’t get it as the institution produces none but snobs.

When we try to seek the attention of a person and the person ignores us we start tainting the character of the person.

When we fail to get the tickets for our favourite match we start blaming the poor quality of the teams who are going to play.
