Give reason :-
1. Aluminum oxide is amphoteric in nature.
2.when a piece of Zinc is kept in copper sulphate solution, the blue colour disappear.
Answers
Answer:
1. Aluminum oxide is atmospheric in nature because it has reaction as both a base and as an acid . the oxides of ions are held too strongly in solid to react with the water. aluminium oxide has oxides ions thus is atmospheric in nature.
2.when a piece of zinc is kept in copper sulphate sol., the blue colour disappear because zinc is a more reactive metal than copper thus it displaces copper from copper sulphate sol.and forms zinc sulphate...and hence the colour of the sol. disappers.
hope it help uhh and best of luck for exams....
Answer:
when Zn reacts with CuSO4 solution, the following reaction takes place
Zn + CuSO4 -----> ZnSO4 + Cu
So the Cu from CuSO4 is removed as Zn takes its place. so the CuSO4 doesn't exist. Hence blue color fades.
