1. Ans : The cities and empires are developed in the river valleys because river provides water and most of the needs of people . The land is fertile near rivers . The place are plan and construction works are easy in river valleys. Thus development of civilization occurs easily. Therefore, the cities and empire developed in the river valleys.

2. Ans : The foreign invasions in India took place in the past from Northwest boarders . It is because the Northwest kingdoms were well known for their richness , wealth and power. Again , the other powerful kingdoms lies on Northwest side. Also the international route of India goes from North West boarder.
