because during the daytime, most of the CO2 given out by respiration is used for photosynthesis. photosynthesis doesn't occur at night so there is a need to eliminate CO2

Carbon dioxide is been emittedby plant 24 hours because CO2 is byproduct of respiration. Plants are living organism and they respire. At night time the emission of oxygen is zero because the photosynthesis process is stopped due to unavailability of sunlight so only CO2 is been emitted.
