A river delta is a landform that forms from deposition of sediment carried by a river as the flow leaves its mouth and enters slower-moving or standing water which is formed in Ganga and Brahmaputra river delta

gangs water being flowing with a huge speed when flowing from the top of the hills take sediments and rocks with it, which when reaches the end of its stream to the bay of Bengal become sluggy. so the sediments taken and flown with the river gets collected in the end, which when collected in huge amount forms delta.
