This is because water will freeze to ice when it is kept in refrigerator and water expands on freezing into ice.
Thus the water kept will expand and will burst bcz it is tightly closed

1. The temperature of air in the freezer (deepfreeze) compartment of a refrigerator is less than 0°C.
2. When a plastic bottle, completely filled with water, is kept in this compartment, the temperature of water falls below 4°C and the water expands.
3. Even when water freezes and ice is formed, there I an increase in the volume.
4. It exerts a large pressure on the sides of the bottle.
Hence, the glass bottle is likely to burst.
Hope it helps!
