Answer:

A)They have similar chemical properties because isotopes of an element have the same number of electrons as an atom of that element. ... However they have different numbers of neutrons, which affects the mass number.

B)Argon is the third of the noble gases or inert gases. It is very non-reactive. So much so, that it forms compounds with virtually no other elements.

C)Mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons in an atom. Now, mass of protons and neutrons is measured in daltons or atomic mass unit,u but the mass of each neutron and proton is slightly greater than 1 dalton, so actual atomic mass is slightly greater than mass number.

D)Chlorine-35 and chlorine-37 are not different elements because an atom of chlorine-35 and an atom of chlorine-37 each contain the same number of protons. The number of protons an atom has, also known as the atom's atomic number, determines which element it is.

QUESTION : GIVE REASONS

1. physical porperties of isotopes are different.

REASON :- Isotopes have different physical properties because they have different Mass numbers.

2.ARGON DOES NOT REACT .

REASON :- BECAUSE Argon is Nobel gas . argon has stable configuration , argon doesn't show reactivity And inert in nature.

3. ACTUAL ATOMIC MASS IS GREATER THAN MASS NUMBER.

REASON ;- Mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons in atom.

Mass of protons nd neutrons measured in dalton.

neutron and proton is slightly greater than 1 dalton ,

therefore Actual atomic mass is greater than mass number.

4.34/17 cl And 37/17 cl do not differ in their. chemical reactions.

Reason :- in these isotopes number of electrons in their outermost shell is same .

therefore their differ in the chemical reactions.
