Answer:

a) Their muscular walls are thicker than the atria because they have to pump blood out of the heart.

b) Plants do not move and have a large proportion of dead cells in many tissues. Therefore, their energy needs are low and hence they can afford to have a slow transport system as compared to animals.

c) the oxygenated blood is produced from the consumed oxygen from the external environment. The terrestrial vertebrates take oxygen from the air through their lungs and the aquatic invertebrates take oxygen from the water through their gills

d) Water is transported faster during daytime because rate of transpiration is higher during daytime. Transpiration takes place through stomata. ... Transpiration creates a water pressure in xylem( water conducting tissue) . This transpiration pressure pulls water column from roots through stem to leaves.

e) Unlike arteries, veins contain valves that ensure blood flows in only one direction. (Arteries don't require valves because pressure from the heart is so strong that blood is only able to flow in one direction.) Valves also help blood travel back to the heart against the force of gravity
