it contains fats so it acts as an insulator of heat Adipose tissue also known as fat tissue serves many purposes within body its most important function are heat insulation and energy transformation it traps heat around the body with the help of fat tissue and provide cushioning to body.

adipose tissue contains less water and blood vessels than most other tissues in the body. Thus it conducts heat less efficently ,helping it to be retained in the core organs .
Also, low blood flow amounts to leader heat loss . In the surface blood vessels and capillaries of the skindilate ,facilating better heat loss.(coupled with sweating)
