Here is your answer buddy

Army tanks run over border steel track and not on wheels because the surface area of the belt is more than that of the wheels. Pressure on the belt from the heavy weight of the tank therefore gets distributed to a larger area of the belt . This prevents the sinking of the tank into the ground.

Let be on the point so the simply the reason is that the steels track divides the pressure equally the pressure which is coming from the heavy tanks and this help to prevent the sinking of tanks into ground .
