GIVE reason as to why steel makes better permanent magnet than soft iron

steel makes better permanent magnet than soft iron because it is much harder , sustainable and it's molecules are much tightly packed than iron

steel is better permanent magnet than soft iron because soft iron magnetised only when when current is passed through it but if we do as same in steel then it magnetised and became a permanant magnet ot it does not leaves this effect. but it is not in the case of permanent magnet .and steel has a this property .
