Answer:

When two or more atoms chemically bond together, they form a molecule. Sometimes the atoms are all from the same element. ... In a covalent bond, electrons are shared between atoms. The bonds between the two hydrogen atoms and the oxygen atom in a molecule of water are covalent bonds.

Explanation:

Atoms of elements other than noble gases or inert gases are usually less stable. Consequently, the atoms of such elements show a great tendency to combine with other atoms of the same or different elements to form compounds and attain stability. In other words, atoms are looking to attain a stable electronic configuration octet structure. The target is of the nearest noble gas in the periodic table.

Some of the noble gases are Helium, Argon, Krypton, Neon, Radon and Xenon. These elements are non-reactive or they do not show any chemical reactivity. This is basically due to their stable electronic configurations. Their electronic configurations are so stable that these electronic distributions cannot be changed.
