Give reason blood goes only ones in ones in one cycle through the heart in fishes

The normal double circulation happens as the heart had to put to pump the blood to the whole body which is big. But in a fish, single circulation happens because the fish is small and the blood needs not to be pumped to the whole body, there is no heart and the fish takes in oxygen directly from the water through the gills.
