amphibians means those which stay on both land as well has land since bryophytes stay on land but for their sexual reproduction there sperm (antherozoids) are flagellate that means (hair like structure which helps in movement) so since they have flagella they require medium that is water such that to it reach to egg where fertilization may occur .so bryophytes are called has amphibians of plant group
