First plants prepare food by photosynthesis by using energy of Sun.

Then herbivores obtain energy by eating plants.

Then carnivorous eats herbivores.

At no turn does this cycle gets reversed.

For example: herbivores cannot eat carnivores and the energy cycle cannot be reversed.

So it is unidirectional flow only.
