Carbon-dioxide is a green-house gas.

A greenhouse gas is a gas which can trap heat hence increasing the temperature of the atmosphere.

Thus Carbon-dioxide absorbs the rays of the Sun and it increases the temperature .It does not let heat escape from the Earth.

The atmosphere temperature adversely effects the Global temperature of the Earth.

Ultimately , the Global temperature increases hence leading to global warming.
