Jute is obtained from its plant at flowering stage. Then, fibres which are attached to the stem are needed to be separated out. Thus, they immerse the stem along with fibres in water. After some days, the stem woukd rot leaving behind fibres of Jute. This jute is taken out manually or by machines.

Fibres are the thinnedt strand from which fabrics (clothes) are made. They are obtained from plants or animals naturally. Also, we can make man-made fibres in factories from chemicals like petrochemicals.

Natural Fibres:

  • Cotton (High water absorption property, and mostly preferred in summer season.)
  • Wool (It has good insulating peoperty and worn in winter season.)
  • Jute (Used for ropes, sacks etc.)
  • Hemp

Intermediate fibres:

  • Rayon (Made from wood pulp but treated with chemicals.)

Man made fibres:

  • Nylon (High tensile strength.)
  • Polyester (Water absorbing and durable.)
  • Acrylic
  • Terylene.
  • Linen
