Give reason for the following:
a)Acquired traits are not inherited.
b) wings wings of an insect wings of a bat are called as analogous organs
c) Thorn of bougainvillea plant and tendrill of passiflora plants are considered homologus organs.

a) acquired traits are not inherited because they won't bring any changes in the genes. changes in the DNA leads to the inheritance of the traits. as this doesn't take place, acquired traits are not inherited.

b) wings of a bird and that of bat are not similar. wings of a bird are fluffy whereas those of bats have papered like appearance for the wings (patagium). their origin is not same. so, these are called as analogous organs.

c) thorn of bougainvillea plant and tendrill of plassifora plant are considered as homologous organs because that origin is same and their internal structures are same but performing different functions.
