a) It is coz metals have the property of sonorosity( they produce ringing sound when struck to something hard). By the way the modern school bells are made by using the property of electro magnetism.
b) it is coz-
they are less expensive.
they are good conductors of electricity.
they are malleable and ductile.
they have a good tensile strength.
The most conductive metal is gold(in case of electrical conductivity). However being so costly, it is used only in high precision electric connectivity.(In laptops and computers)
