Ans a) it is due to the hidden heat required to convert solid into liquid. It is also called as LATENT HEAT OF FUSION.
Ans b) It is due to evaporation because evaporation causes cooling and it also depends upon surface area. larger the surface area the more is evaporation. The saucer has larger area than the cup and evaporation is more in saucer. Hence we are able to sip hot tea faster from a saucer than a cup.
Ans c) it has several pores in it so the evaporation is more because water seeps out through the pores present on it.
