hi friend,

a) water is liquid at room temperature because it's boiling point is higher and at room temperature the water can't boil as room temperature is not so high that it can make water into vapour's.

b) As we know that molecules of gases are very loose and can move freely so when it is put in a container then the gas fills the container as much space they get.

hope it helps...

Due to molecular distance between water is large than ice so its molecular forces of attraction between them is less
So it's show fluid nature and at room temperature water is liquid due to its specific nature
Gas has very large distance between molecules so shows high fluid nature
