a) Metals are used in making bells because they are sonorous that is they produce a ringing sound when we strike them. Because they are sonorous ie they make sound. ... Metals used for bells are specially designed alloys that make a nice ringing sounds .

b) White phosphorus is highly reactive, and spontaneously ignites at about 30°C in moist air. It is usually stored under water, to prevent exposure to the air. It is also extremely toxic, even in very small quantities.
