Factors affecting rate of evaporation.

1. Surface area : For example consider two ponds of different areas. The pond which has the maximum surface area has maximum rate of evaporation the minimum surface area has minimum rate of evaporation ( here surface area refers to amount of water exposed to sun )

2. Nature of liquid : The nature of the liquid also plays a major role in evaporation . If we consider some liquids like petroleum they are volatile liquid then can get evaporated in fraction of minutes and if we consider water it is a non volatile liquid which takes so long to get evaporated.

3. Humidity : More is the humidity less is the temperature so if humidity is more then the rate of evaporation decreases as temperature will be less.

These are factors which have great impact on rate of evaporation...
