Answer:

Out of all parts if the earth, the oceans consists of major portion. Hence, whenever it rains, it is more probably to rain in an ocean. As oceans are large, a huge amount of evaporation can take place at a single time which helps in formation of clouds and further result in precipitation. If there would have been no oceans on earth, the amount of rainfall would had been decreased by a major quantity. This would have caused lack of water on earth. Hence, oceans play a significant role in the water cycle.
