agriculture is a primary activity no matter where it is practised ... in india agriculture is the occupation which is mostly prefered by people ... and it provides raw material for other industries such a mills .. suagr industries etc..... somehow almost every industry is dependent on agriculture for its raw material so agriculture is a primary activity... also the materials produced by agriculture sector cannt be directly consumed by the consumers... these have to be processed first

Answer: Agriculture is a primary activity because many regions in India have fertile land that is  favourable for agriculture. Two-thirds of the Indian population still depend on agriculture. This is  mainly because of the lack of literacy among the people. Hence, India being a densely populated  country requires large scale production of food to fulfil the people needs.
