Give reason: Madegowda learnt to protect animals.
Answers
Answer:
Why we should protect animals?
The question itself admits that it is in our competence to protect animals. However, the poser is, why it should be done. Are we, by a far fetched argument, obliged to do it? Is this to be done for purely utilitarian reasons? Are we morally or ethically bound to do it? Has the religion or spirituality any demand , in this regard? Protect from whom? From the Nature or ourselves?
Since a question has been raised, it is apparent that , on the face of it no answer is in sight which is apparent and convincing and , therefore, the query. This is one of those questions, I would hasten to add, where an answer received does not really convince. One has to seek his own answer.
Once an American journalist asked Osho, the controversial saint from india, whether at any time in future, he would allow alcohol and non-vegetarian food in his ashram. He took no time to elucidate that, while he would not mind that much the alcohol but he would never allow non-vegetarian food , since it is against aesthetics. Mind it, his answer was not dependent on the dictates of any religion, only on how it hit his susceptibilities.
