Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points because there constituent units are ions which are strongly packed and a small energy cannot break the forces of attraction between them
Ionic compounds are soluble in water because water has a high dielectric constant and hence it breaks the forces of attraction present between the ions very easily ,thus dissolving them.

Here is your answer
1. Ionic compounds have high melting boiling points ?
ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points. Conductive when liquid - Ions are charged particles, but ionic compounds can only conduct electricity if their ions are free to move
2. Ionic compounds are soluble in water ?
A substance like NaCl that conducts a current when dissolved in water is called an electrolyte. ... Most ionic compounds are soluble in water. This is because polar water molecules have a strong attraction for charged ions.
