Hypotonic solution is that in which solute concentration is low but high water concentration. As outside the cell their is high water concentration, so water moves inside the cell and causes the swelling of the cell. But this doesn't lead to the busrting of cell because of the presence of cell wall which prevents the cell from bursting and also prevents excess incoming water from entering cell…..

in hypertonic solution the concentration of water outside the cell was more so water moves from higher concentration to lower concentration inside the cell. in hypertonic solution the concentration of water outside the cell was less so the water from higher concentration moved to lower concentration that is outside the cell
