To check soil erosion,the following measures should be carried out:
1)Afforestation 
2)Banning of Jhomming or Shifting Cultivation
3)Plant shelter belts perpendicular to the direction of wind.

Mulches can be made out of grass clippings, leaves, straw, sawdust, bark chips and straw.
For hillsides and places where you fear the mulch will wash away, lay a brush mat over the area to protect the seeds.

yes the soil erosion should be checked compalsary because the usage of fertilisers is becoming more and more by not using these fertilisers this makes the soil to loose it's fertility but there is a solution that is we need to use natural farming it makes the soil mor fertile
