Give reason-some plants are tall and some are short
Answers
Answer:
the gene for tallness give instructions to plant cellsto make alot of growth harmone & due to this the plant become tall and if the gene in the plant is for dwarfness the less plant growth harmone will be produced and plant become dwarf.
Answer:
Gregor Johann Mendel played a vital role in explaining the principles of heredity. He carried out several hybridisation experiments with true-breeding pea lines which had sharply contrasting characters. One such experiment was the crossing of a tall and a dwarf pea plant. According to Mendel when two different characters from two different individuals are crossed, he found that one character is expressed in more number of individuals and another character in less number of individuals. He found the ratio to be 3:1. The character expressed in more number of individuals is considered to be dominant and the character which is expressed in less number of individuals is recessive. The recessive genes though present in the dominant individuals, these genes are suppresed by dominant genes. If the genotype is TT, then phenotype is Tallness of the plant. If the genotype if tt, then phenotype is dwarfness of the plant.
Genotype is the genetic make-up of a cell, an organism, or an individual (i.e. the specific allele make-up of the individual), usually with reference to a specific characteristic under consideration. Alleles combine to make a genotype, such as TT or Tt or tt.
Phenotype is a morphological expression of a single character. For example, Tallness.
