steam at 100 causes more severe burns because steam is having a amount of heat in the water which it absorbs with the particles which becomes the hidden heat or the latent heat other than water when a person takes steam the latent heat absorbed in water also touches him which cause major severe burns than water at same temperature ...... proved my answer ..... hope it helps and mark as brainliest

Steam causes more severe burn than boiling water.

Boiling water at 100°C changes into steam at 100°C absorbing latent heat of vaporisation. Due to this extra amount of heat steam causes more severe burns than boiling water although the two are at the same temperature.
