Temperature starts rising gradually towards interior of earth because there is no place for air to get in and because of the geothermal gradient that keeps increasing with the increase in depth.. radioactive decay is also a reason for the increase intemperature. Even, the weight and pressure of rocks also starts increasing with depth.
