R E A S O N~1 :

  • Terraced farming checks erosion as it controls the direct flow of water down the slopes.

R E A S O N~2 :

  • Regions that receive less than 75 cm of rainfall are suitable for dry farming. Red soil is porous so does not retain moisture. So, dry farming is preferred in areas of red soil.

R E A S O N~3 :

  • Arid regions are extensive flat lands with no or few vegetation cover. So, the dry winds are able to erode the upper soil surface which become loose due to absence of obstruction.

♧Reason:-

1) We know that hill slope is cut into a number of terraces have horizanatal top and steep slopes on back and front .

2) As the red soil is less fertile and found in areas charecterized by heavy rainfall.

3) Because arid areas do not support vegetation and since they are no roots to hold the soil together.

Hope it helps u mate.

Thank you.
