Wet clothes take longer time to dry on a humid day because the air has a lot of water vapour and so it can't accomodate the water vapour created by the wet clothes. So, the water remains, in the clothes for a longer time. It is because the solar radiation received gradually decreases as we move from equator towards poles. So solar energy i.e. insolation also decreases.

it takes longer to dry wet clothes in humid weather because moisture and vapours are present in this weather and they are slightly absorbed by the clothes which makes the clothes a little more wet again and due to this they take a longer time to dry in humid weather.

ratankumar348: Evaporation is directly proportional to temperature
