Tughlaq empire declined due to the ineffective policies.

  • Muhammad Tughluq's international and domestic policies both failed. He was unable to defend and consolidate the empire that he had inherited from his father.
  • Firuz inherited a dwindling and an insolvent empire from him. As a result, Tughluq was largely to blame for his reign's decline.
  • Timur then conquered Delhi in the year 1398 A.D. and pillaged and killed his way to the overthrow of the Tughlaq dynasty.
