"Use of detergent causes water pollution
- Generally, detergents are basic in nature.
- It has the pH around 9 to 10.
- After washing clothes, we are allowing the water directly on the ground. We know that the pH of water is around 7. The untreated water after washing clothes directly follows on the ground thereby increases the pH or increases the hardness of the ground water source.
- Thereby the pH of the ground water increases and ground water source got polluted. Hence it affects the life in water."
