The vapour pressure (VP) of any liquid is the measure of the amount of the molecules of that liquid in gaseous state. i.e Higher the VP larger the amount of molecules.
Thus, if intermolecular forces are strong like in case of acetone (dipole-dipole & H bonding) the ability of a molecule to escape becomes difficult and thus results in lower VP.
In case of ether due to linear nature and low polarity, intermolecular forces are lower and hence ability to escape is higher leading to higher vapour pressure.
