Because in the dark zone of candle flame there are present some unburnt combustible substances and when we put a glass in the dark zone that combustible substances come in contact with the glass and can even go to the other end of the glass , so there are combustible substances present in the other end and when we light the match stick and place in contact with glass , the glass catches fire .
