a) Refrigerator have a plastic foam core. It is used because plastics are good insulators and they can resist the low temperature easily , as well as balance the temperature of the surrounding with the temperature of the refrigerator.

b) the electric wires are covered with plastic coverings because the plastic is an insulator and thus it protects us from getting shocks.

c) Cooking pots are provided with  plastic handles because they are bad conductors of heat. This prevents the heat from the pan to transfer to our hand
