When temperature is raised above 1000 K, sulphur changes to vapour phase as S2 molecule.
- S2 molecule contains 2 unpaired electrons in antibonding π-orbital. Thus it is paramagnetic.
- Therefore, sulphur at 1000 K shows paramagnetism.
